Fun things to do

These great attractions are all minutes away!
Alki Beach has a two and a half mile long pedestrian walkway, and in the summer is populated by beach volleyball players, sun worshipers, and beachcombers. Most of the beaches on Puget Sound are covered in rock and shells, but on Alki you can get sand between your toes, get some exercise, learn about Seattle’s earliest settlers, and take in a great view of the Seattle skyline. You'll be staying about one mile from this amazing beach and hot spot!

One of Seattle's largest parks with great hiking trails through old-growth forest, paved walkway along beach, tennis courts, baseball fields, picnic shelters, and a heated salt-water swimming pool during the summer. Its landscape is diverse, with rocky beaches, grassy meadows, and forests typical of the Northwest. One of the best spots for amazing sunset photos!

Just steps from Pike Place Market on Seattle's historic waterfront. The Seattle Aquarium is the 9th largest aquarium in the U.S. Definitely worth a visit! The coolest way to get there is the water taxi which you can catch right here in West Seattle.

The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks or the Ballard Locks is one of Seattle’s most popular tourist attractions, especially during the sunny months. The grounds also feature a fish ladder and the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden — one of the most beautiful park settings in Seattle. An engineering wonder! Might sound boring, but definitely NOT - super fun and interesting.

The Seattle Center is where you'll find the Space Needle, the MoPop Museum, the Chihuly Glass Museum, the Science Center and so much more!! Plan to spend the whole day (or two) there. Do not miss the Chihuly Glass Museum - try to go late in the day so you can see the amazing glass pieces in natural sunlight and illuminated in the evening.
