Some of the most spectacular views are from this old plantation. There is a restaurant on the premises but you can as easily pack a picnic and enjoy the majesty of the views along the Ashley River.

There are beaches within a short drive from downtown Charleston--Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms are beautiful beaches within 10-12 miles drive from downtown Charleston. There is nothing better than watching the sunrise or sunset overlooking the ocean and harbor.

A great walking, running and cycling destination with spectacular views of downtown Charleston and the harbor. It is also the place of the annual Cooper River Bridge Run held every year in late March/early April where 40,000 run/walk the 10k from Mt Pleasant to downtown Charleston.

Delicious food all day long. One of my favorite places to dine. Great selection of food, wine and beer. An easy walk from your garden apartment base.

One of the best places for breakfast/brunch, lunch or dinner. Great spicy bloody Mary's after a half marathon or walk along the harbor. The views are spectacular. The food as delicious as the views.

Closest Airport

Now there are more direct flights into Charleston. It is a 20 minute drive to downtown Charleston during most days (unless it is rush hour).

Neighborhoods

This is a great neighborhood where the garden apartment is located. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, theatre (one of my all time favorites is Pure Theatre on Cannon Street, just a few blocks away from the garden apartment), and beautiful homes and shops.

My favorite theatre

One of the most spectacular theatres in Charleston with themes that have you thinking long after the final curtain call. The good news is that the theatre is just a few blocks away from this garden apartment, with restaurants nearby that make for great pre-performance or after-play dining.

Sailing on the Charleston Harbor

One of the most spectacular experiences during your visit is to sail or boat on the Charleston Harbor, where the Ashley meets the Cooper River to form the Atlantic Ocean, or so the tale goes. You will see the cityscape unchanged in over 200 years intermingled with new creations such as the Cooper River Bridge, with its equally amazing views of the city and harbor. Not to be missed.
