Beach-bar in the summer and industrial-style night cafe in the winter, Roest is the closest place to my house where you can have a beer in the sun, brunch, dinner and show some dance moves! Usually it's open until 3 am.
In the summer, Roest organizes small festival (food, flea markets, live music)

An old school, this place has been refurbished and transformed into a nightclub, restaurant and cultural complex with a 24h licence. It's a cool location, with an inner garden to chill out when you have enough of the electronic beats.
Famous DJs have played at this location, check out the program online.
Important!! They are very selective at the door: if you are with a group of people, make sure to split into groups of no more than 3, preferably including a girl, and make sure to know the name of the DJs playing that night.

Huge green area in the middle of the city, great for a picnic, a relaxed walk and finally a fresh mint tea with apple cake at one of the cafe's.

Small and beautiful park where you can sip a glass of jenever in the distillery located right in its heart, right in front of a tiny lake. Be careful, it closes already at 7pm!

A really friendly german guy and his australian wife have opened this tiny little beer (and wine) shop few months ago. It has a gigantic variety of beers from all over the world. Highly recommended to enjoy few beers at home.

Best apple cake in town! I recommend to accompany it with a mint tea.
If you are more of a "salty" person, you can go for bitterballen and a beer - also very good!
It's located in Nordermarkt, a square in the middle of the Jordaan where you can find a market on Saturdays.
