Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Watch eagles and orcas from your wraparound porch

Relax and restore in this seaside cottage across a quiet country road from the beach. From the wraparound porch watch otters, eagles and even orcas swim by, or settle on the large stone terrace amidst beautiful gardens. Steps from the pier for watching best sunsets on the island, and a 3 minute stroll to enjoy boulangerie and seafood restaurant. Chillax! Just 10 minutes from town, 5 to St Marys lake, near many farm stands for freshest of breads and gourmet treats. Great for families or couples!

Forest Hideout

Our tiny cabin is located on a 14 acres property in the middle of the woods. You will enjoy complete privacy and use of your own area on the land, including a pond. Located 2 min, from the Transcanada Trail, 20 min. walk to the Kinsol Trestle, a World Heritage Site with beautiful swimming holes right underneath the bridge. 20 min. to next Grocery store and 22-25 min to Duncan. Approx. 50 min- 1 hr to Victoria. Pottery lessons are available by request if you have always wanted to try it out.

The Rad Shack

The Allegra apartment is a comfortable private suite which brings you close to nature as the house is surrounded by majestic cedar trees. The private balcony provides a beautiful ocean view to Mt. Baker and the Rocky Mountains. At night you can see glimpses of the lights from downtown Vancouver.

A countryside retreat overlooking pastures with both wildlife and horses. Enjoy a relaxing getaway at Prancing Pony located on a 37 acres farm kitty-corner to Hemer Provincial Park. The geodome lodging includes a queen size bed, and 3 piece bathroom. There's a microwave, mini fridge, sink, and outside is a BBQ. There's a deck to lounge in the sun, a gazebo sun shelter, and a fire pit. In the evening, frogs serenade you from the nearby pond.

Warm, minimal, and calming—where forest sounds and ocean air create space to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with nature.

Galiano Cabin Hideaway

The cabin has a double bed plus a twin size guest bed on the main floor, very comfortable accommodation for two or three guests. It also has a self contained second bedroom and bath on the ground floor with its own private entrance that is ideal for sharing with one or two guests. There is a $125 per night fee for this additional bed and bath. Please contact the host if you wish to book this second bed and bath.

Orchard House Garden Suite

Stay in the Orchard House garden suite on peaceful Thetis Island! Built in 2024, the suite is fresh and centrally located, walking distance from the ferry and both marinas, pub, cafe, community centre and walking trails. Kick back and relax with views of the harbour and valley. Your hosts (with 2 little ones) live in the main part of the house and can't wait to welcome you!
