Welcome to Aquila Cottage which is directly on the Hadrians Wall Path, Pennine Way and Cycleway Route 72. The cottage is in an unparallelled location just 150 yards from "the best bit" of Hadrians Wall at Walltown Crags and directly opposite the Roman Army Museum. There is a bus stop right (services include AD122) outside. We are perfectly located for walking, visiting the sites along Hadrians Wall, stargazing events at Walltown & Twice Brewed as well as visiting the lakes & Scottish Borders

Stargazers apartment, one of two houses down a private drive. A peaceful, picturesque location. No noise or light pollution and the darkest skies in Europe. Enjoy the whole top floor with open plan lounge/kitchen and historical bookcases. Bedroom with roll top bath, king size bed, ensuite bathroom. It's a fabulous space! Windy Hall is somewhere very special. High in the Pennines it offers one of the most magnificent views in England. You may want to stay and enjoy the views & seclusion, but we are also ideally placed for day trips to the Lake District, the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, and Hadrian's Wall. Limited parking and access at the house means parking is 240m from the house so we will give you and your luggage a lift up on arrival. But don't let this put you off; please just read our reviews!

The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

We supply shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap. We supply a continental breakfast. A full English breakfast could be supplied in you require. Free pick up after 5pm from Steel Rigg and free drop off before 9am. Dog friendly too. Small airfryer, small freezer and fridge.
