Mel‘s house was a gem. Beautyfull and with literally everything one needs for a perfect stay. The fireplace is cosy and works very well, making the house comfortable. The kitchen and all equipment was perfect to make a perfect shoulder of lamb and all other things. Bed was comfortable anf the shower in the bathroom perfectly done in an alternative way. All in all a very nice place to spend some days!

Beautiful location nestled under magnificent mountains. The native gardens are stunning. House is fully equipped with all the extras that make for one of the best 5 star Airbnb’s. Great indoor fire and comfy couch. All the luxury mod cons and decor.

A unique and special experience! Outdoor bath in the moonlight was definitely a highlight. Kath, Dan and family were friendly and welcoming.

The house has a great location and is close to the next larger town, which is also very cozy—Hokitika. The house is set in an idyllic spot with the perfect view of the mountains, which seem to close in, and in the morning, the mist beautifully weaves through the trees and peaks. The accommodation itself is incredibly cozy—really, really cozy. If you like, you can even light a small fire. We were warmly welcomed by Heather and Jim, who are such lovely hosts. Their entire property is simply breathtaking.

Great House and Location. Right on the beach and logon. Very peaceful and picturesque. House was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Coffee and cookies at the kayak adventure store (two doors down) was an added bonus.

A beautiful little house. High level toiletries, coffee, tea, crockery. The wine and chocolates were appreciated. The house is advertised as secluded but the other house is only meters away and easily seen from the deck. The lake is more a dam and as far as we could see only calf deep - not at all suitable for swimming. Nowhere to unpack or store clothes. A few kilometres from Franz Josef township.

Really lovely place to stay. We enjoyed how tranquil it was out in the country, and we even got a clear night to see the amazing stars! We didn't use the fireplace as there wasn't a fire guard and we had our one year old with us who likes to run head first into everything, but the beds were super warm and thankfully it didn't get too cold during our stay. Definitely planning on coming back again soon :)

Amanda’s home was perfect for our family of 3! The space was exactly what we hoped for and then some. The beautiful dining area and patio is where we spent most of our time at the house. The property is quiet, spacious, and private. The house is a very short drive to Franz Josef. Amanda was very quick to respond even early on in our booking considering the time difference between the US & NZ. She even setup our helicopter tour, which I would say is something that shouldn’t be missed. We had such a great time in Franz Josef we hope to be back soon and would definitely want to stay at Amanda’s home again.

This was the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in!! It's such a beautiful home, so comfortable, well-appointed, spacious & homely. All the wooden features were gorgeous. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a proper meal. We loved the fireplace & the outdoor bath. The fresh eggs, milk, teas, coffees & hot chocolate were a wonderful bonus. Huge & very comfortable bed. Everything was stylish & spotless. This place is a little slice of paradise & we wish we could have stayed a whole week!
