Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We are located 5.9 miles (approximately 12 minutes) from the Dunes National Park. Second STR available on same property that also sleeps 5 people if you have a group!

Timeless Farmhouse Escape w/ Historic Bank Barn

Bring the whole family! This property features a stunning Pennsylvania Dutch Bank Barn that began housing many farm animals until the 1950's, in which it then housed 3,000 laying hens until 1973. The barn was built c. 1856 The farmhouse has been updated with beautiful character. Sit on the wraparound porch or enjoy a beautiful sunset on the back patio in this peaceful setting. *No events or large gatherings *No pets (there is nearby boarding, if interested can give you information)

Private Cottage in Gated Nudist Community

We offer a private cottage on the grounds of Lake O the Woods Club. Cottage has Queen size bed, air conditioning, heater, refrigerator, microwave, TV, coffee maker, work/dining area, private deck and porta-potty. Payment of club daily grounds fee ($30-$60) is optional . Pricing on club website. There is no running water in the cottage. Bathrooms, showers, hot tub, sauna and swimming pool are available at the clubhouse and pool area after payment of grounds fees.

Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located studio apartment. Newly remodeled and furnished in vintage mid-century and modern finds. Located in downtown LaPorte, you are walking distance to shops, restaurants, farmer's market and city events, concerts, trails, lakes and the Dunes volleyball center. The LeRoy's building was built in 1860 and housed a neighborhood grocery for much of it's lifetime and will transition into a boutique hotel in 2025.
