We had a wonderful weekend away at Nikki’s classic kiwi bach! The location is so beautiful, and it was great to be right on the waterfront. The Bach is lovely and had everything we needed for a great stay. I only wish that we could have stayed longer! Nikki is a friendly, helpful and responsive host. Hopefully we will get to come back again one day!

Such a stunning spot. Tea’s place was everything we were hoping for and more. We just loved the vibe of the space for endless rounds of cards and snuggling up at night, listening to the roar of the sea. The perfect spot for connecting with family and faves.

what a place!! the house is far back road and incredibly serene. we came with two young kids and 4 adults and there was heaps to keep us occupied. trip across the estuary with kayaks to these amazing beach breaks a particular highlight. The whole house has something for everyone and honestly think we may be back. Rebecca was also an amazing host and had loads of local knowledge to share.

Glorious place close to town, peaceful with all details thought of. Fabulous all-round.

Pataua South is a gem. The spot is idyllic and having two large decks gives you outside options depending on the weather. The kitchen is well appointed. The only thing I'd suggest is providing a hardcopy of all the 'operating instructions' so many remotes and appliances that for the technologically challenged, having those handy would have been helpful. Possibly crossing the tie downs on the spa pool would also keep the lid on better and stop sand getting in, so it could be used. On the scale of things though, so minor and doesn't detract from the wonderful setting and fabulous amenities. Highly recommend. Thanks Cassie and Laurence.

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

We loved everything about this property and couldn’t fault anything at all. The location, the cleanliness and amenities, everything was perfect. We would definitely be back!

This is such a lovely place to stay. So central and easy to walk all around Piahia. Place was beautifully presented, beds were very comfortable. We had a great time and my girls were sad when it was time to go home.

Wow, we have truly enjoyed staying at Clive’s beautiful home, located on a gorgeous beach. The location was phenomenal, steps away from the beach with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The home is equipped with all the necessities, very spacious yet cozy, the floor to ceiling windows provide the best views from the living room and kitchen. We are already looking forward to coming back, we had such a wonderful experience.

This place was beautiful in the picture, but even more beautiful in reality. We chose this place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we are very pleased. We enjoyed a three-course dinner prepared by ourselves with a breathtaking view in the background. We didn't even think about going to a restaurant, because no restaurant offers such a milieu. The nice pool and jacuzzi in the common area added even more value. Every moment was worth staying there and the price-quality ratio is perfectly balanced. The staff was very pleasant as well. Thank you very much for playing an important role in our important day!

Great stay at this beachfront property! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the water, making it easy to enjoy the ocean. The home was clean, well-kept, and had mostly everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were especially great—super comfortable for a restful night’s sleep. Check-in was smooth, and the host was responsive and helpful with local recommendations. Overall, a great spot for a beachside getaway. Would definitely stay again!

Blown away by location and beautifully presented home, complete with all the bells and whisltes. Loved that we had access to plenty of beach toys, games and books. Did not need a thing. Felt right at home after travelling 800kms. Perfect size for a big whanau who love the beach. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning.

Lovely place to stay. Very well equipped. Great for family group of 3 generations. Great views from all rooms and always something happening on estuary. Pool table, spa , pizza oven and kayaks provided great variety of options. Highly recommend

It truly is a tree house! Set on a steep hillside over a private beach. Watch out for slippery stairs after the rain. Very quirky 70s decor. Homely comfortable and modest. Wonderful views and the you can’t beat the roaring sound of the ocean. Wish the weather was better for swimming. Thanks for sharing it with us!

What a pleasant "mishap" that we ended up staying in Opua! We originally intended to stay on the Treaty Grounds, but due to Waitangi Day it was full. I stumbled onto this wonderful waterfront home, and am so glad I did! Opua is the cutest waterfront town - not much in terms of dining or shopping (none!), but we took the ferry to Russell directly from here, and did the lovely Opua/Pahia waterfront walk. Also, a 10 minute drive to Pahia for all kinds of grocery stores and restaurants. We made sure to just spend one evening eating a simple meal on the deck, overlooking the beautiful bay and passing boats. The place is well-stocked, clean, and cute, with a bonus washer/dryer. As others have stated, the driveway is tricky but not un-doable. And there are many steps up to the front door. Didn't take away from our wonderful stay here, ON the water!!! Loved it!
