The Wind Mill

Beautifully located in hills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean sits the Marinhas windmill. The windmill dates from the year 1758 and was built in the traditional northern Portuguese style with circular walls, two floors, an entrance on the grown floor and two windows on the upper floor. It is classified as a municipal heritage building. The mill is 130 meters above sea level thus providing a breathtaking view over the towns and ocean and a unique retreat for the more adventurous guest.

Relax in this unique and peaceful getaway, 1.8 km from the city centre of Porto, next to the Douro River and the Port Wine cellars. You can walk along the river to Porto, or you can stroll through the grounds of the house in a small private forest.

I present to you the new project created by me and my husband. It consists of a small house surrounded by nature where you can enjoy a few days of peace and tranquility. It is very close to the river Cávado (Ponte do Porto) and has good access to Gerês, Amares, Vieira do Minho, Póvoa de Lanhoso and Braga. Less than 3km away, you will also find the Quinta Lago dos Cisnes and the Solar da Levada. In addition, you can bring your pets to enjoy a good holiday with them!
