Nestled along the Mississinewa River near James Dean's hometown, Taylor Univ and Indiana Wesleyan Univ, we were originally named Harrisburg, until the natural gas boom of the 1800s. The town was renamed Gas City boasting to grow to a pop of 50 thous, but sadly the gas wells dried up. The Branson House was built between 1885-1890 by Irvin Love for his new bride Hettie Pearman and her two children. The house and Carriage House have been completely renovated. The carriage house was in extreme disrepair and the majority of the exterior brickwork was able to be preserved. The building will sleep 4-5 with a comfy double bed, a pull out sofa and an additional sofa. It is decorated with fun mid century furniture and decor.
