The apartment is so close to the water that you don't have to put on your shoes to get to the beach. It is located in the Tamani compound and is behind four beach houses but has easy access to the pool and the beach. There is currently construction in the compound next to ours and the noise levels are erratic. The Sails Seafood Restaurant is next door. Access to other restaurants and shops are within a short tuk tuk ride. Fishermen visit daily with fresh fish that the chef will cook for you.

Samawati (translates to 'heavenly place' in the local language) is a charming Lamu Arab style double storey villa overlooking one of the last unspoilt beaches on Kenya's Indian Ocean coastline. Each of the four bedrooms face the ocean and the elevated position catches all the breeze from the beachfront. The six acre private garden provides privacy and a haven for birds and wildlife.
