A wonderful stay almost in the heart of Shillong, very friendly staff who took care of everything. They provided great recommendations and helped us book taxis to other places around Shillong. The food was amazing. The place has a lot of character and style. I would recommend The Anchorage to anyone at any time.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt wirklich genossen! Die Lage ist hervorragend – zentral und mit vielen Restaurants in der Nähe. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und komfortabel. Wir haben auch warme Decken und eine Heizung bekommen, da wir im Winter dort waren. Das Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit, und wir haben den Service sehr geschätzt. Das Frühstück war frisch und abwechslungsreich. Ein weiteres Highlight war die gemütliche Atmosphäre des Hotels – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Wir können das Guesthouse wärmstens empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!

Location: Perfect for us. We were in Shillong for the NH7 Weekender. So we wanted something located close to the bus stop and shuttle drop off points. It's about a 20 minute walk to Police Bazaar and say about 30 min walk to SRGT bus stop. 2 minute walk from Barik bus stop, which was a BIG help cause we got back from the venue after midnight. Place: Room and attached bathroom are super clean. Breakfast is served in the morning and being a big eater I was definitely not left wanting. Completely worth it. Plus, it's very very rare to have a host make the effort to serve you something different every morning. We definitely appreciated the effort and care. Host: Very welcoming, helpful and warm. Trust me, you'll feel right at home here. Go ahead and book.

Quintessentially Shillong, the Anchorage is just the perfect BnB if you want to stay in Shillong. The rustic interiors, the vibrant garden, the affable staff and the regal host - the Anchorage was a very pleasant surprise. My stay was amazing and I was very well taken care of, would love to visit again.

I had a wonderful stay at the Anchorage. the staff is super helpful and kind. the garden view room is really really gorgeous. getting around town from the Anchorage is super easy as the taxi pick up points are just across the road. As a solo woman traveller I felt safe and at home here. Thank you.

The pictures do no justice to the beauty that this place is. Each corner of this building and the rooms are Insta-worthy. Beautiful, quaint and very tastefully done. Hospitality is excellent. You will be welcomed by the very warm Ranjan who will meet all your requests with a smile. Also, if you are a pet lover- you will get to see the Owner's 5 adorable dogs basking in the mellow evening sun- who will come and greet you with their wagging tails. Overall, the place is quite well located, clean and a pleasure to stay in. We stayed for three days and we don't have a single complaint. It is perfect!

Very tastefully done place. Central location with good eateries around the place. Debajyoti was a great host, not to mention the domestic help at the bungalow that was extremely nice and helpful. Compares to any good corporate accommodation with all amenities needed. Will definitely choose this over a host of other hotels in Guwahati.

This is my second time here and I don't think I can ever give this place anything less than 5 stars! This Airbnb has been kept really well maintained and both the host and the caretaker are super responsive and helpful. Overall a great place to unwind!

we loved our 2 days stay at Shairiti's place and wish we had stayed longer. It felt like a home away from home. Shairiti was very responsive and accommodating. Jasper who was there all the time to help us out with our requirements is a great guy and very friendly in nature. I'll recommend her place for anyone who is looking for a peaceful stay, maybe for readers or writers this would be an ideal place to be. Additionally the food that we had was very gourmet and the breakfasts were scrumptious and healthy.

I’m thrilled I found Rachel’s homestay! It felt like home, with spotless rooms and a clean bathroom. They even have a heater and a geyser for hot showers. The food is delicious and authentic. They have bikes and scooters for rent, and the place is surrounded by two adorable furry friends who’ll shower you with love. The caretakers are super sweet, and a special shoutout to Shine! I met Ashley on the last day of my stay, and I’m so glad I did. He’s a biker and traveler with a wealth of knowledge about the Northeast region. He organizes unique trips and tours that you won’t find anywhere else. Last but not least, Rachel is an amazing and caring person who makes sure you’re always comfortable and happy. I absolutely felt like home! She went above and beyond to help me plan my itinerary and make sure my stay was peaceful and enjoyable. She even arranged cabs for me at odd times! So, with no second thought, BOOK THIS PLACE RIGHT NOW!

Excellently maintained property of an eminent Indian personality. The stay was exactly as described and tastefully furnished with antiques. Very clean and comfortable. The property is still owned by the Baruah family which was great to know. As too many of our heritage houses are getting lost to modernisation these days. Only tip for improvement would be - Maybe to add a quick introduction about the family history, life and contributions of Dr. Birinchi Kumar Baruah. Those interested to know more can then be guided to the ample reading material kept for guests. Heritage tourism can be an added highlight. In all, highly recommend the place for your next trip to Guwahati.

Very clean rooms and lavish property with an operational swimming pool. Caretaker was super helpful and helped us in any way possible at any time. Super thanks to the caretaker Mr Kennedy sir for such a wonderful and joyful experience. Highly recommended stay and will for sure will come here next time as well.

I stayed for 1 night only and it was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. The basic amenities were provided. There was water, tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was also offered in the morning which was really nice. I am a vegetarian but they also gave an egg in the breakfast. It would have been nice if I was asked about my non vegetarian preference. The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. It was easy to find the location and an Uber could easily reach it. There is construction going on next doors so there was noise in the daytime. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that they changed my room without informing me or asking me. My bed was next to a window and it was a bit cold at night so I could not sleep very comfortably. However the overall stay was very good. I would recommend this homestay :)

Rupankar is amongst one of the hosts who pulls up extra effort to make your stay comfortable..!! he did not only took care of us but also was kind enough to get the food prepared for our furry kid..!!

Excellent stay We Booked initially for 3 nights but we do liked the place that we booked it for another 2 nights. Excellent location and Police bazar is in walkable distance from the property. Lots of eateries and shops were just nearby. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom is clean with all modern amenities. Will definitely visit again. Thank you Kenneth!!
