Unterkünfte in Chedworth
In our beautiful Cotswold garden, wind up through the rockery to this sheltered hillside spot, with its very own private deck and seating area, offering gorgeous views to the surrounding village, nestled in idyllic countryside. This light and airy, but warm and cosy studio has a super comfortable kingsize bed, a desk and a separate stylish modern bathroom, a lovely deep bath, and a very efficient shower attachment if needed. You will be living under the eaves, so headspace is a little limited.
You are welcome to potter about our large garden.
We are just 2 minutes walk from the Seven Tuns Pub, which is a quintessential Cotswold country pub, with good food and roaring log fires - this is a great place to while away an afternoon or have an evening out without any need to drive. We are situated in the most beautiful countryside with miles of footpaths. We have a beautiful church and a Roman villa in the village and a farm shop that serves an all day ‘bottomless’ breakfast. Nearby Cirencester has great independent shops and a Waitrose. Also highly recommended for food is The Village Pub at Barnsley and The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns. There is also a village taxi service, if you need a lift home. Needless to say, we are right on the doorstep of all the well known cotswold villages and beauty spots, so this is an excellent location from which to tour around.

This fully equipped, comfortable, light and spacious, self-contained country cottage is your home from home in the heart of the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, an official 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. With superfast broadband and central location Chapel Cottage, and its little courtyard garden with summerhouse, gives you access to glorious countryside surrounding famous stone built towns and villages.
The Cottage, originally a Sunday school, is attached to a handsome Cotswold stone chapel built in 1804. Both buildings have been converted to interesting living spaces by the present owners who live in the chapel. The cottage is totally private and completely independent. It is warm and cosy in winter and airy and spacious in summer. The small upstairs bathroom with WC is complemented by a downstairs WC and basin, plus there is a wash basin in both bedrooms. Voted no 5 in the 10 best airbnb's in the Cotswolds. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/airbnb-guide-best-places-stay-1201240
The rural village of Chedworth is in the heart of the Cotswolds but within easy reach of Oxford, Stratford-on-Avon Bath and Cheltenham, even London for a day out with good express coach and train services nearby. Stonehenge is also accessible in a day and you can visit Avebury on the way back. Cirencester is the local town (7 miles) with excellent supermarkets and independent shops. Northleach (4 miles), is a small market town, with a particularly good dining pub, The Wheatsheaf. The cottage is set in a peaceful spot on the edge of the village and from it you can explore the surrounding hills, valleys, streams, rivers, lakes and villages. This is also good biking country. Cotswold Waterpark, a vast landscape of lakes south of Cirencester, offers a variety of water sports and nature reserves.

Welcome to Willow Tree Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Willow Tree Cottage is a beautiful detached property, which backs onto open fields in the heart of the Cotswolds village of Chedworth. With a popular local pub and farm shop, this unspoilt village is well placed for walking in the beautiful surrounding Coln Valley, and is close to Chedworth Villa, once one of the grandest Roman villas in the country. Northleach and Cirencester are close by, offering a range of shops and dining options, and the many picturesque towns and villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy reach. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Willow Tree Cottage is a detached property located on a quiet road in the heart of Chedworth. The grounds of the cottage are entered through a lovely beech archway, which opens onto a large gravel driveway. The front door leads into a hallway, and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Reading room: A bright and airy dual aspect room, with two wing back armchairs and views out to the garden; Kitchen/breakfast room: The well-equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, five-ring induction hob, fridge, freezer with ice dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a sociable seating area with an ornamental fire place and a wall mounted SMART TV, which contains a dining table and seating for four; Living/dining room: A spacious room with an impressive exposed Cotswold stone wall, oak beams, and a large inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. There are two sofas and a wall-mounted SMART TV, plus a large dining table with seating for eight. A door in the corner of the living room reveals a secret staircase behind the fire, which leads directly into bedroom 2; Utility room: A useful space with a washing machine, tumble dryer and wash basin; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the ground floor to the first-floor landing which has a small desk with work lamp. The following rooms are on the first floor: Bedroom 1: A characterful dual aspect eaves room, which overlooks the front and back gardens, and contains a king size bed, vanity table, arm chair and built in wardrobes. This room has a large ensuite bathroom, which contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, a large walk-in rain shower with additional shower attachment, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 2: Another lovely eaves room overlooking the front garden, which contains a king size bed, a large chest of drawers and a wall-mounted TV. The room is accessible from the first floor landing, and it also has direct access to a steep spiral stone stair case, with a rope barrier, which leads down into the living room. There is an ensuite bathroom, which contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 3: This is a very unusual secret room, which is accessed via what appears to be a cupboard in bedroom 1’s ensuite bathroom, which opens up to reveal a small doorway into an eaves room containing two single beds. Due to the low doorway, restricted ceiling height and access via bedroom 1’s bathroom, this bedroom is only suitable for children up to the age of 14. Willow Tree Cottage’s beautiful garden surrounds the property, and contains a small pond and a variety of trees and plants. The garden rises up behind the cottage, and includes a lovely lawned area looking out over a meadow towards the local church. There is an outdoor table and chairs in the garden, as well as a charcoal barbecue during the summer months. The gravel driveway in front of the cottage has parking space for four cars.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Welcome to Castle Mews, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Castle Mews is a hidden gem of a cottage, at the end of a short row of cottages tucked away down a gated passageway, right in the heart of the lovely market town of Cirencester. In Roman times Cirencester was known as “Corinium”, when it was the second largest town in Britain, a history that is celebrated in its local museum. Nowadays, Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswolds, enabling it to support a wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops, all housed in beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. The town is surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful Cotswold villages, as well as being an ideal base for visiting further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford or even a day trip into London. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Castle Mews is very peacefully located, down a gated passageway off Castle street, a beautiful street in the heart of Cirencester. There is a lovely enclosed courtyard garden at the front of the cottage, which leads to the front door. The door opens into the open plan ground floor: Living/dining area: The relaxing living and dining space contains a comfy sofa, an armchair and a wooden dining table, with seating for two. Discretely hidden away in a wooden cabinet is a small SMART TV and DVD player; Kitchen area: The lovely kitchen area is very well laid out and contains a two ring induction hob, electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and a washing machine/tumble dryer. Stairs lead up from the living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom: A lovely eaves room, with oak beams and a ledge and brace door, which contains a king size bed; Dressing room: A nice additional space, which contains a sofa, a dressing table and a free standing towel rail; Bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Returning downstairs, a stable door leads out from the kitchen area to a small, enclosed courtyard garden at the back of the cottage, which contains a table and two seats. The garden area at the front of the cottage is larger and is a beautiful place to sit outside and relax, containing two comfy chairs and a small table.
Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade".

Welcome to Willow Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals.

Food & Drink Bourton has a variety of places to eat and drink, including cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, with a range of prices to suit all budgets. The list below is a small sample of the options available: The Chester House Hotel and The Croft Restaurant (www.chesterhousehotel.com): Breakfast, morning coffee, lunches and evening meals in a riverside restaurant. You can enjoy freshly prepared, local produce throughout the day and night, with seasonal specials added to the menu daily. The Duke of Wellington (www.dukeofwellingtonbourton.co.uk): A local village inn aiming to provide fresh home cooked food with a friendly service. There is a light snacking menu, a full menu and a wonderful range of desserts and hot beverages. As well as daily home cooked specials, on Sundays you can enjoy a traditional carvery with all the trimmings from 12-6pm. The Mousetrap Inn (www.mousetrap-inn.com): A traditionally run Cotswold stone Inn, with a history dating back to the building of the railways in the 18th Century. Serving home-made food, along with fantastic, locally brewed real ales. The Village Restaurant & Tearooms (www.thevillagerestaurant.co.uk): Traditional, home cooked food in a friendly atmosphere, overlooking the river Windrush, in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water.

The open plan downstairs contains the following rooms: Living room: Full of character, this room contains exposed beams and a stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. There is a two seater sofa, two armchairs, and a Smart TV with a Blu-ray/DVD/CD player; Kitchen/dining room: Accessed directly from the living room, this well presented room contains a double electric oven, four ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, small freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is also a stylish glass dining table, which comfortably seats four. Stairs lead up from the living room to the small first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: A lovely room with attractive rural views, which contains a double bed; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, heated towel rail, wash basin and toilet. There is also a washing machine in the bathroom; A door on the first floor landing leads to a second, steep stairway to the second floor bedroom: Bedroom 2: A lovely eaves room, which can be set up as either two single beds or a king size bed. Directly outside the front of the cottage is a lovely, peaceful patio area, which contains a table, four chairs and a charcoal barbecue.

A stylish open plan barn conversion, with gorgeous uninterrupted Cotswold countryside views. It's in a private setting, perfect for couples or solo visitors. Situated on the edge of a beautiful village, it's an ideal base for enjoying all the Cotswolds has to offer, including great walking and cycling, lovely country pubs and famous cultural/sporting events in nearby Cheltenham (@10 miles). Alternatively you can just relax, enjoy the scenery and do nothing at all.
We are perched on top of a hill on the edge of a beautiful and typical Cotswold village in an area of outstanding natural beauty. At the top of our driveway, tucked away from the main house, is our barn. If you are looking for something a little bit different but with a modern feel, gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and privacy, then this will be for you. Our pool house was converted from a small stone barn and, as the name suggests, there is an outdoor pool and one side of the building looks out on to this (though it's only open June-August). The other side looks out on to uninterrupted views of magnificent rolling hills, complete with sheep, pheasants and birds of prey. Outdoor furniture is available. Inside it's a little non-conventional, and is open plan, with a mezzanine bedroom area that has a huge gable-end window and an 11-rung wall-fixed ladder to get you up to it. Up there is a low-level double bed and a cargo net that pulls across the mezzanine opening for extra safety, if needed. NB We are very sorry but this won't be suitable for anyone who cannot ably and confidently use a ladder to go both up and down. There is a separate toilet with a small hand basin and a walk-in overhead shower (please note no bath) with a connecting changing area where you can also store/hang things out of the way. The main room is open plan and has a kitchen area with an island and seating for 6. It's well equipped and includes gas hob, electric oven, fridge with small freezer box, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle (no washing machine/dryer). There is a huge, very comfy corner sofa for relaxing and there's a TV with an Amazon Firestick with a small selection of channel apps including Netflix and Amazon Prime. It has under floor heating throughout. Please note we do not have curtains on the massive sliding doors on each side, however it is private where the barn is situated with no buildings overlooking it. There are removable blackouts that can be used on the gable-end window on the mezzanine/bedroom level, for those who prefer less light when sleeping. Outside there's a lovely deck and beyond the pool is a private garden area leading on to a paddock. Wifi works very well, mobile not very well at all, though you can hook-up to the wifi and use wifi calling, if you have it and that works perfectly.
Our area is very beautiful, very green, very quiet and very rural. This makes for a relaxing and peaceful stay. It's also super-dark at night as we have no street lights. If you are looking for night-life you'd have to go to Cheltenham (15 mins drive, cab possible with a bit of pre-planning). Please note you will have to drive to get to a pub or shop.

Welcome to Bury Fields Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Bury Fields Cottage is a modern barn conversion and despite its rural appearance, the property is just a short walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, also known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’, due to the River Windrush that flows peacefully though the village. Bourton has a wide range of traditional pubs, shops and restaurants and is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, and the many picturesque market towns and villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy reach, as are further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Bury Fields Cottage is located off a farm track, just a short walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water. The wooden dining table comfortably seats four. A staircase leads up from the living room to a gallery, with two large bean bags, two wicker chairs and a bookcase with a selection of books and games; Kitchen: This space has been thoughtfully designed and features an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, toaster and filter coffee machine; Master bedroom: This room contains either a super king size bed or two single beds, and a combined chest of drawers and wardrobe; Bedroom 2: Another lovely room featuring a double wooden bed and a built-in cupboard; Family bathroom: Contains a walk-in rain shower with handheld shower attachment, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail; Utility cupboard: Contains a washing machine/tumble dryer. A safe, locked storage facility is also provided for guests who are keen cyclists. There is space on the driveway at the front of the property for up to four cars.

The Notgrove Estate is a 1500 acre family run working farm owned by Harry and Diana Acland. Set high up in the Cotswold Hills it has 400 acres of grassland in deep valleys and 100 acres of woodland and rolling arable fields. The farm has a mix of sheep, cattle and arable and has diversified with two horse livery yards and a holiday cottage business. In the last few years Harry and Diana have put in new foot and bridle paths and entered into a wildlife conservation scheme planting 200 acres of special plots planted with wild bird mixes, corn bunting mixes, pollen and nectar mixes for bees and beetle banks that promotes the preservation of our natural wild birds. The scenery changes with each season as does the pattern of farming; we have an abundance of lambs and calves in spring, harvest in summer, colourful autumn leaves and dramatic winters, often with snow.

The front door opens directly into the open plan living space which is laid out as follows: Living/dining room: This dual aspect room is divided into two areas by the impressive staircase which descends from the first floor. The welcoming living room has a sofa, two leather armchairs, a wall-mounted Smart TV and an ornamental fireplace and the dining room on the other side of the floating staircase has an Oak effect dining table with seating for four and a second ornamental fireplace; Kitchen: The compact yet well-equipped kitchen overlooks the garden and contains an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a compact dishwasher, microwave, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The wooden staircase leads up from the main living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: This lovely spacious room, with high ceiling and views of the lane below, has a double wrought iron bed, a pretty vanity table and a freestanding wardrobe; Bedroom 2: With a lovely feature Victorian fireplace and dual aspect views, this pretty room has two single beds, a vanity table and a built-in wardrobe; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. The back door in the kitchen leads out into the lovely enclosed garden which has a large patio area with a bistro table and chairs on one side and a Rattan lounge set with a sofa and two armchairs on the other. The patio looks out over the lawn, bordered by colourful flower beds and shrubs, and with the provision of the charcoal barbecue this is a wonderful setting for al fresco dining. There is off street parking for two cars on the gravel driveway at the front of the property.

  • Fantastisches Ferienhaus in perfekter Lage.

Staying at Demeter gives you private and independent accommodation in a cosy self-contained detached garden annexe, which is situated in a small village in the delightful Cotswold countryside. Provisions for a continental and/or English style breakfast are provided for the first night as experience shows that longer stay guests prefer to cater for themselves. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Situated in the garden of the main house, the annexe was originally built as a 'granny flat' and, therefore, is particularly well adapted for elderly and/or people with impaired mobility. It is completely self-contained, well-appointed, warm and cosy; with an option to use the futon in the lounge as a single sofa bed. A travel cot (<2 years old) is available.
Situated so near Cirencester, we are ideally positioned as a central base for touring around either the northern or southern Cotswolds, attending events like Cheltenham's Literary Festival, Badminton's Horse Trials or Gloucester's Three Choirs Festival. However, if you just want a relaxing break from everyday life, cycling or walking ( with or without a dog), there are great routes from the village on the easy footpaths or bridle ways, and every chance of seeing an abundance of wildlife, especially watching the buzzards, kites or deer.

Within the main living area, but slightly off-set, is the delightful seating area, with a three-seater sofa and plush, velvet cushions, a coffee table and a large smart TV with an Amazon Firestick. The living area has bi-fold doors that open out on to the patio. At the top of the stairs, French doors open out onto an elevated walkway that leads round to the back of The Sycamore’s patio. Bedroom At the far end of The Sycamore is the beautiful bedroom, with a king-size bed on a fabulously carved mahogany bed frame, creating an opulent feel, perfect for any couple wanting to escape for a romantic break. The bedroom has bedside tables with reading lights, a comfy antique armchair and occasional chair, with a low coffee table between the chairs, a large double wardrobe with hanging space and shelves and a Velux window (with fitted blind) that allows the sunlight to flood in. Shower Room Just opposite the dining area is the entrance to the luxurious shower room, which features a large walk-in shower with handheld and overhead showerheads, a contemporary wash basin with vanity unit and large mirror, a dual flush W.C. and a heated towel rail. All towels, shampoo and soap are provided for guests. Outside The Sycamore’s guests have a private patio at the rear of the property, accessed through the living area’s bi-fold doors or through French doors at the top of the stairs. A table and seating is provided along with a charcoal BBQ (please provide your own fuel). The patio looks out to a towering beech tree and Arlington House’s lovely garden. Please note: The Sycamore’s patio adjoins the owners’ private garden. Though it may be tempting to take a stroll in the garden, we ask that you remain on the patio as the main garden and pool is not for The Sycamore guests’ use. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Museums and archaeological sites As an important area to the Romans, Cirencester and the surrounding villages offer some interesting museums and archaeological sites, including the Corinium Museum in Cirencester and Roman sites at nearby Chedworth and Withington.
