Sister shrine to Nikko's Toshogu Shrine. Beautiful, but without the crowds. If you do not have a car, you can take a taxi - only 11 min away! Enjoy nearby Momiji no Yu hot spring, Daikokusama golden statue and Nakanodake Shrine (built by Kobo Daishi, the monk who brought Buddhism to Japan). Fantastic for avid hikers. Beautiful rock formations. Stunning fall foliage and cherry blossoms.
