The iconic Appalachian Trail runs from Springer Mtn, GA to Mt. Katahdin , ME. You are only a short drive away from multiple access points to the trail within the Roan Highlands or Unaka Mountains. Whether you want to start in the valley for a strenuous hike, or just drive up to ridge lines for layered mountain views!
