If you have a free evening and just want to relax, Gravelly point is a park about 8 minutes away on a piece of land near the airport. The planes fly extremely low and its a perfect place for an afternoon lounge or an evening picnic.

This is an AMAZING place to watch locals AND AIRPLANES taking off/landing at Reagan National Airport! The tarmac is literally yards away from you, so you'll hear and see the planes fly RIGHT ABOVE your head RIGHT BEFORE THEY LAND! Have a picnic, get some great pics, and enjoy the greenway!

A chill spot to pull up and park, share snacks and watch planes taking off and landing at National Airport. Or rent from the Capitol Bikeshare and ride out the trail. If sweating isn't your thing, have a picnic by the water.
