There are nearly a hundred public beach access points available along Panama City Beach. We are close to access point 40. Some of these access points provide public parking, while many do not. However, all these access points help guarantee the public free access to the beach, and also provide information about the beach flag warning system. Locals and visitors alike often have their favorite beach access points - Some are popular places to see and be seen, while others provide a quiet escape from crowds and a chance to do a little reading or just watch a peaceful sunset. Explore Panama City Beach, and you'll soon have a favorite spot on the beach, too! Stay safe. Know the beach flags. When swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, safety should be your top priority. In Panama City Beach color-coded beach flags are in place to keep the public aware of sea conditions at all times. Remember, double red means stay out of the water - you could be arrested for ignoring this warning! So stay aware, and have fun on our gorgeous Florida beaches! Double Red- Danger! Water Closed to Public Single Red-High Hazard, High Surf and/or Strong Currents Yellow-Medium Hazard, Moderate Surf and/or Currents Green-Low Hazard, Calm Conditions, Exercise Caution Purple-Dangerous Marine Life (Usually Jellyfish) *Absence of Beach Flags Does Not Assure Safe Waters.
