Gay Street, developed in the 1790's rolls through the heart of downtown Knoxville and has played a major role in city development. The Gay Street bridge overlooks the Tennessee River and is a great spot to admire the downtown skyline. Several restaurants, shops and bars can be enjoyed up and down Gay Street.
