If you're looking for a great park that has panoramic views of the valley below, you must go to Rising Park. There is a nice playground for kids, a pond but my personal favorite is the view! You won't believe you're in Ohio.

Climb to the top of Mount Pleasant and you can see all of Lancaster.

It's quite a hike to the vista but worth it. There are urban legends that this was the site/scene for John Wayne's moving "The Searchers." My grandpa was half Cherokee. I don't think he let the truth get in the way of a good story for the kids.
