This glass factory where you can watch the artisans hand blowing glass is about a 30-minute drive from the city centre. It’s a really artistic, colourful place, where they’ve used pretty shards of glass in the brickwork and pathways. There’s also a shop where they sell the slightly wonky pieces for cheap! There’s a nice cafe here too, so you can have a cup of coffee in between glass blowing sessions. It’s also close to Rolf’s Place, a hotel that has a big rope bridge to take you across the river.

The making of magic recycling glass! Visit this unique spot where old glass bottles are turned into chandeliers, vases and other artifacts. The whole center is made from recycled items making it a 'Alice in Wonderland' like experience. The shop sells at very affordable prices and the cafe' serves tea and snacks. Perfect for a day out.

It’s where the magic happens. The dome has more than 1,000 glass stars inset into the ceiling in an accurate rendition of the night sky

Visit Kitengela Hot Glass for the perfect glass crafts, scary bridge- a hanging and swaying metallic narrow bridge across the river. Good for sight seeing and adrenaline rush.

Located 26km away so only possible if you have half a day or so free. But a great place to visit for an insight into handblown glassware. They do demonstrations at certains times so book in advance. www.kitengela.com
