One of our favorites beaches in Malibu: on the far end of Zuma Beach & we love it. We can park, open our doors, and literally shove our gear out the doors & onto the sand... yessss!! This beach is an extension of Zuma Beach but has much more limited parking, especially on summer weekends. That said, people are always coming & going (especially surfers), so it might be worth it to look for a spot. Waves are usually a little crazier here than rest of Zuma. The Sunset Restaurant is on this beach -- limited parking, but a nice stop for food. (19.3 Miles from Villa, 23.3 miles back)

Point Dume State Preserve features headlands, cliffs, rocky coves and vast beach access. Point Dume State Preserve is assessable from the cul-de-sac at Westward Beach Road. A gradual ascending trail leads to an ancient coastal bluff sand dune. Go up to the Point Dume hilltop overlooking Dume Cove most winter months (and especially February thru April) to see California gray whales. At all times of the year, enjoy an incredible view encompassing the entire Santa Monica Bay, north Malibu Coast, inland Santa Monica Mountains and distant Catalina Island!
