One of the city’s most beautiful beaches, Baker gives you that two-for-one view of where the Pacific Ocean meets the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay and headlands beyond. On the beach, you’ll find sand dune ecosystems typical of this area and some unique wildflowers that can tolerate the shifting conditions. A walk from one end to the other is a must. An easy way to reach the beach from downtown is to take the PresidiGo, a free shuttle that goes through the Presidio and stops at Baker Beach.

Baker Beach is a public beach on the peninsula of San Francisco, California, U.S.. The beach lies on the shore of the Pacific Ocean in the northwest of the city. The best beach to see the Golden Gate Bridge.
Great for anyone that loves the outdoors! Beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge, right from the beach!
Love walking on the water and with great view of the Golden gate Bridge!
The iconic SF beach experience. A great place to picnic, take obligatory photos with the bridge in the background, and don't be surprised to see a few people sunbathing in the nude!

“What could be better than San Francisco's premier surfing spot only minutes away? Keep an ear out for the many festivities that happen here year out: things like morning yoga, Bay to Breakers, and Corgie Con!”

“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”

“The de Young often features traveling exhibits from all over the world. It's in a fantastic modernist building which has a tower that you can go up (free of charge) for a great view of Golden Gate Park and the surrounding city.”

“Beautiful (and easy) hiking trail overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Pick a sunny day for the views although I also love the misty fog or as we call him, Karl the Fog! He even has his own instagram @KarlTheFog ”
