Worthing Beach is 10.5 miles between Ferring in the west and Lancing in the east. The beach is made up of mainly shingle above high water and sand down to low water, with rock pools.

Worthing beach is a 10 minute walk from the property. Along the promenade you will encounter coffee vans, shops, restaurants and, on the weekend, street food vans. Walk along the beach towards worthing and it will be a 30 minute walk into the town centre, walk west and you will be heading towards goring where there is a greensward which can be enjoyed for picnics and barbecues. The beach itself is tidal and enjoyable at every time, high tide for swimming and low tide for crabbing or for little ones to splash in tidal pools.

Worthing has a long pebble beach on both sides of the pier, backed by a promenade with cosy copper-topped shelters. Maybe the prettiest part is to the east of the pier, for its imposing Georgian and Victorian townhouses around Steyne Gardens and monuments like the Dome Cinema. A bit further along are the East Beach studios, where pavilions on the promenade house studios for Worthing’s growing community of artists and crafts-people, making and selling paintings, sculpture, clothing, ceramics, carvings and jewellery.

Worthing is a vibrant seaside town with plenty of shops and no shortage of places to eat and drink. The Dome cinema by the seafront is one of the oldest working cinemas in the country, having been running since 1911. The Worthing Festival is held during the last two weeks of July each year. It includes a fairground along the town’s promenade. The gently sloping beach at Worthing is sand and shingle, with most of the sandier parts being covered as the tide moves in. This means low tide is definitely the time to visit with kids as there are also some rock pools uncovered. Popular activities on the beach include fishing, windsurfing and swimming, although there is no lifeguard service. There is zoning for water sports.
