Why not take the kids on the Pendle sculpture trail just outside of Barley, making getting the kids out on a walk much easier. A circular walk through the forest where you get the kids to follow a trail and read the info boards for clues to find these fantastic sculptures hidden away. You can start the walk parked at the Barley picnic car park and finish there grabbing some lunch and a pot of tea from the Barley cabin.

Aitken Wood is the home of the Pendle Sculpture Trail which brings art, history and nature together. Inspired by the history of the Pendle Witches of 1612 and the natural world found in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, four artists have created unique sculptures from wood, steel and stone. Allow 2 - 3 hours to complete the trail. It is approximately 1 mile to the start of the trail from Barley Car Park. It's well worth it when you get there!
