The sight of world-famous, 1815 "Battle of New Orleans", this sprawling, 143-acre park is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take a self-guided tour around the battlefield, picnic on the levee, admire the historic plantation house, or stroll through the lovely, well-kempt cemetery where many of our nation's heroes lie at rest. This is a serene, secluded place. Cyclists and joggers, find your peace here. Activities: Baratarian cannon crew artillery demonstrations 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Sundays October 28, December 9, and December 16.
