A place to go to get a sense and history of North Devon. There a new gallery space, cafe, shop, and Tourist Information Centre to get some ideas of what you like to visit. 15mins drive from the accommodation. Park in town and just walk in.
It's free to enter, has a decent selection of artefacts on display which provides some history to the local area and there is a store to browse.

“The best curry house in my opinion. And worth the journey into Barnstaple. What is my favourite dish.... all of them but the railway lamb curry is amazing. You will need to book. 01271 322 299 / www.gangesbaarnstaple.co.uk. They do have a take away menu but don't deliver to Ilfracombe. But I have been know to collect and it is still warmth to enjoy back home. ”
