A Naples gem indeed. Starting at the wonderful Naples Grand Hotel, this half mile long boardwalk through the coastal mangvrove leads you to a wonderful spot on the Gulf Coast shore. You can walk the full mile there and back, or take the free hotel tram that runs quite frequently (hotel guests have priority both directions). If you choose to walk, the beautifully maintained boardwalk has signs on the handrails the entire length of your journey describing the various insects, reptiles, marine life, and swamp creatures that are indigenous to the area. Great for kids that are interested in learning about nature. Beware, it's hot out there. The mangrove canopy provides ample shade, but be sure you dress for hot weather and bring water. There's restrooms, an outdoor bar and food at the end of the boardwalk once you get to the shore. Parking is $10

I consider this the “hidden gem” beach of Naples. Public parking access. Take the freely provided golf cart “trolley” head to the sand. If you walk far to the right enough, you will see a “mouth” opening; where a river meets the ocean. A little effort but very worth it
