This is great place to have a weekend walk. This a walking path which starts from the Castle gate to the foot of the statue of King George III (The Copper Horse). The long walk measures 2.64 miles in length. After the White Gate, it opens to Great Park which you can see lovely deers if you are lucky! :)
If you are a watcher of Royal weddings then you’ll have seen the carriages return to the Castle up the iconic Long Walk. If you’re feeling energetic walk the 3 miles from the Castle to the Copper Horse statue for great views of Windsor. Another 3 miles back to grab a pint in The Two Brewers Pub!
Charles II was responsible for the original planting of the Long Walk. This historic walk is an easy terrain stroll that takes you between Windsor Castle and The Copper Horse, (and on into Windsor Great Park if you want to keep on going). From the Castle Gates to the Copper Horse is exactly 2.5 miles. Children’s scooters are allowed but no cycle bikes although you are allowed to cycle throughout the rest of the Park.
