A part of the University of Montana, this world famous freshwaters research lab and training facility are on Yellow Bay, just up the East Shore from Skidoo Bay. Exceedingly gracious researchers and caretakers of our clean lake are usually available to answer questions, and tours and boat tours are often during the summer. FLBS has a close working relationship with peers at Lake Tahoe, and regularly consults in the preservation of fish habitat in places are far flung as China and the far eastern streams of Russia. The scientists here often hold forth at monthly craft beer gathering sponsored by The Flathead Lakers.
