Here are our personal local recommendations: airbnb.com/rooms/1356589/guidebook Check out Airbnb's guide to Things to do in Denver: airbnb.com/things-to-do/denver Despite the address, the home is located closer to Nederland (10 min) than Black Hawk (20 min). Nederland is nestled in the mountains just west of Boulder. With its access to skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, climbing and enjoying the quaint small town shops, Nederland is a diverse vacation destination for the whole family. It's location, approximately 30 minutes to Boulder, home of the University of Colorado, and about an hours drive from Denver International Airport makes it a convenient travel destination. Enjoy strolling along the creek, the reservoir or through the rustic downtown. Nederland is at the center as you travel the scenic Peak-to-Peak Highway that runs from the gaming communities of Black Hawk and Central City to beautiful Estes Park. Summers: Nederland Summers offer a wide variety of outdoor recreation for the whole family. The many opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, biking, fishing and horseback riding encourage you to make the most of your time in the Rockies. Our temperate climate and '350 days of sunshine', make our area ideal for summer fun. Winters: The Colorado Mountains are a sought after location for winter sports lovers everywhere. You can avoid the crowds and traffic by taking advantage of the countless activities our local area has to offer in the winter. Eldora Mountain Resort is about 15 minutes away for skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing. It is typically open from November 25th through April 15th depending on the snow conditions.
  • Our trip was absolutely amazing at Jed & Damaris' cabin. They communicated with us up until the moment we arrived, making for a very easy travel experience. Their property manager, Marcelo, was timely and walked us through everything we needed to know upon arrival. He also recommended some local attractions and things to do which were all great recommendations. The house is beautiful! There is a wonderful view, local animals roaming the backyard, and plenty of amenities. If you are looking for a rustic cabin experience while also having idea amenities, this is the place for you. It was a romantic experience for my girlfriend and me, and it was only a short drive to Golden, Boulder, and Denver. I would highly recommend this getaway for anyone looking to escape the city life for a nice quiet, peaceful vacation. Thanks so much to Jed and Damaris for a wonderful stay! We will most definitely be back!

  • HONEY-MOONERS, BEWARE! This is the best cabin money can buy. From the fabulous kitchen to the steamy jacuzzi, i couldn't have asked for more. One note thoigh, this property has very Steep driveway, having a 4x4 is a MUST unless you're going for the snowed-in feel. They also have a shovel for you to clear a way if you enjoy working like me. This is the dream vacation you have been searching for.

  • Jed/Damari were excellent host that seemed to have put a lot of thought and effort into making our stay as convenient as possible. Little touches like leaving a bottle of wine and local taffy, all the way to having an explanation for the locking mechanism on the backdoor, made our stay feel incredibly personable without them being there. The property is simply amazing, featuring the most picturesque views of the river below and surrounding mountains. This was a perfect place to recharge and leave behind all the stress of the daily grind. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to come back!

  • We didn't want to leave! Jed and Damaris provided one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had-- the home was very tidy and superbly appointed. They thought of everything and ensured that visitors could relax upon arrival. Loved the decor, hiking around the property, and checking out nearby Nederland. I hope to come back soon!

  • Now THIS is what Airbnb is all about. This incredible home is the best we have ever stayed in, for multiple reasons. Starting with the home itself - it's set in the most breathtaking and beautiful location, and our January visit was (cold) but snowy magical. The stunning log cabin is the real deal, with floor to ceiling glass views of the surrounding nature in complete privacy and dead quiet. So many mod-cons such as very impressive and effective underfloor heating, timed lighting for the beautiful outside deck area and very comfortable beds. If all this weren't enough, the home is filled with the highest quality amenities and extra treats - high end shampoo/conditioner, as many different tea flavours as you'd want, food in the fridge and cupboards (eggs, butter, wine, candies, popcorn) and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Some things to keep in mind - the home has no curtains or blinds, so be prepared for relatively early wake-up. But the surrounds are so magnificent, you're just grateful to be awake and seeing it. The only other caution relates to the altitude - we were surprised by how out of breath you can easily get, and the dehydration factor as well. Make sure you bring good quality lip balm and drink LOTS of water! Expect to be a bit stuffy in the sinuses a lot of the time. Jed and Damaris were so helpful, quick to respond and detailed in their support. We could not give a higher recommendation for their home - it's the ultimate in mountain getaways. Our only regret is we were only in Colorado for 4 days. In hindsight, we would happily stay for weeks.

  • My boyfriend and I fell in love with this beautiful cabin during the summer and we couldn't wait to come back so we planned a winter trip as well. It was stunning! It snowed most of the time we were there so we cozied up near the fire and watched the snow fall. We can't wait to come back again! Jed and Damaris once again, thank you for being amazing hosts.

    Ashley2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jed and Damaris were absolutely fabulous to us. This was our first Airbnb stay and it literally couldn't have gone any better! The cabin is SO cozy and welcoming. They gave us a sweet bottle of wine with some local candy store candies which made us feel so welcomed! They have little notes every where that help you really care for their home like it's your own. You have every necessity you could think of, with the most amazing surroundings you could ever think of! The hot tub was fabulous, we used the grill every night, and the private hiking trail near the cabin was so great. They gave us suggestions on places to hike, places to eat, and everything in between. The wood burning stove in the home was my favorite feature - so cute and warms up the place amazingly! My husband was required to do some work when we arrived, but we were unable to connect to the internet. We called Jed from the land line (we didn't have nay phone recepetion out there, so they were thoughtful enough to include the land line in the home), and asked about the internet. Within 15 mins, he had called the company and called us back to let us know there was an outage that was being fixed asap. We were back online within an hour. HIGHLY recommend taking a visit to Colorado! It was a perfect anniversary weekend for us!

  • Great folks with the best dog ever! Very nice space in little town area. Highly recommend!

    Jonathan2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a nice location for walking into Nederland for dinner. The studio was clean, well heated and comfortable. Looking at the stars from the hot tub was awesome and what’s more you could see the Milky Way the night we were there.

    Taylor2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The space was great. Very clean, stylish and the hot tub was a great way to end the night. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the town.

    Josh2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Angie & Jesse's apartment was a perfect get away for us. The location is ideal. I think what fascinated us more was the vibe they have been able to create in the studio - you can tell their commitment towards nature from the smallest of the things in the apartment. We loved it and would love to be back.

    Poonam2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a wonderful time at Jesse and Angie’s mountain studio! They were super responsive and provided clear instructions on expectations. They also gave all sorts of suggestions on places to go in the area (and the pizza place did not disappoint!). The space was clean, warm, and beautiful — it is clear that they value their space and the guests who visit. They were kind and hospitable and available. My friend and I had so much fun sitting out in the hot tub under the stars and the bed was super comfortable. Overall a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend it!

    Kerri2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to stop in Nederland, Angie and Jesse's place is definitely the spot to do it. The place is very cool and was exactly as described. Angie was welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. There was coffee for the morning and some breakfast snacks in the fridge as well as oatmeal. The house is within walking distance to the restaurants. Very peaceful and comfortable.

    Jessie2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Angie and Jesse's solar powered studio! The space was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The studio was furnished with everything we needed including oatmeal, coffee, and delicious homemade muffins. The studio was a great location for day trips to Estes Park and Indian Peaks Wilderness, but the town of Nederland was special enough to never even want to leave! Every restaurant in which we ate was delicious and the people so kind. We particularly enjoyed stopping in the co-op for coffee and pastries and had a wonderful brunch at Rocky Mountain Oyster Bar. Had a great time in Nederland and would definitely return to stay in any AirBNB managed by Angie!

    Amy2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Angie & Jesse's place was clean, updated and quiet! We had everything we needed for our short stay in CO! It's phenomenal for what you pay! It's not a bad drive to just about anything you'd want to see in the area. :)

Best view from a house, ever. 1800 square ft of clean, comfy romance. LARGE deck for summer, wood stove for winter. Safe Space. 1 mile from Ned, 20 miles from Boulder. Hot tub on deck over looking continental divide, Trampoline, Movie Room, full kitchen. You can call it a cabin, but it is more of a house, 8500 ft high, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains :)
UPSTAIRS has open-floor plan that looks out on a panoramic view of the Continental Divide - this is what I refer to as the 'best view from a house, ever'. Kitchen, wood floor, telescope, and hammock in this upstairs 'great' room. Very large deck is connected to this space. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything, including condiments, spices, etc you are invited to use. Stereo works from your computer or phone, with speakers inside and out on the deck. Master bedroom is also on this floor with king size bed and great divide view. The big deck has a hot tub, grill and trampoline. The trampoline is at deck level with the deck and divide in front of you. Hammocks too, though hammocks and grill are not really winter things. From the deck, along with the continental divide, you can also see Barker Reservoir, and downtown Nederland (1 mile away with many restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops). DOWNSTAIRS has two private bedrooms, and another 'bedroom' in an open space. Wood Stove, Large TV with DISH cable, Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and DVD/Blue-ray player. Also, work out & yoga equipment. It's clean, warm, carpeted. Washer and Dryer too.
I will leave you a couple of magazines that cover it ALL, in detail - Hiking, biking, special attractions, etc. Nederland was my favorite place on earth when I moved here 11 years ago, and still is. There are world class mountain hikes and other outdoor adventures minutes from the the front door. Road and trail biking, skiing. fishing, depending on the season. Our little town (1500 in town; 7500 in surrounding mountains) is an overachieving place. The Carousel of Happiness is an art project, and yes, a carousel you can ride. The 'Rock Shop' (Nature's Own) is worth checking out. Three world class coffeehouses, Happy Trails (local flavor), New Moon (wonderful bakery) and Salto (lots of room, beer & wine). The Co-op on first street (just ask anyone where it is) is a great place for healthy grocery shopping. (We also have a 'normal' grocery store, the B&F.) Tadasana Yoga rivals any yoga studio I've ever been to. Check their schedule out online. Classes 9am, noon, every day. The Wild Bear Nature Center is nearby and worth checking out. A few good bars (with their own restaurants), a used book store (with ice cream!) a hardware store, a bank, and more. Some good restaurants, including: Cross Cut Pizza (really great) Kathmandu (Indian), James Peak Smokehouse (they smoke their own meat, brew their own beer) Salto, The Thai Restaurant. Salto is a coffeehouse but also has good food options.
  • The house is amazing and has gorgeous views. Darryl left helpful notes to help us find common items and figure out the house more easily. Darryl was extremely responsive to my questions throughout the process. Excellent experience.

  • AMAZING!! I didn't think it was possible for the view to be as incredible as it looks in the photos BUT IT IS! Darryl was an incredible host, kind and welcoming to my family. We stayed for 7 nights and were not ready to go back to reality. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There were 6 adults and 1 baby and we had plenty of room in the house. Our visit was the first week of July 2014. We spent most of our time on the patio - it was perfect. The trampoline provided many hours of happiness for my 1.5 year old kiddo. The trampoline is integrated into the deck and has a security net around it. She was in heaven. We made use of the hot tub, hammock and grill almost daily. What a lovely touch. Darryl even has robes for you to use after your dip in the hot tub. No better way to spend an evening than on the patio under the stars. We thoroughly enjoyed the town of Nederland as well. For a small town, the food was really impressive. We didn't have a bad meal there! It's an easy walk into town from Darryl's place. The people of Nederland were very kind and there are many great shops to check out. Make sure to check out the Carousel of Happiness - it's truly magical : ) We were able to find many beautiful hikes that were all in close proximity to Nederland. If you're considering staying here - GO FOR IT! It was an all around perfect trip with Darryl being the perfect host. He was very easy to get ahold of if we had any questions about anything. A simple text and he would get right back with us. The whole family loved it and daydream of a time when we can return! Thank you Darryl!

    Jill2014-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just perfect! The view! The deep hot tub! The indoor hammocks! The incredibly nice people of Nederland! Skiing at Eldora! A+ for all of it! Darryl had everything set up nicely in the home, and so clean! By the end of our 5-day stay, it felt like the home was ours! This was the perfect getaway for our late-year vacation and our very first vacation from our children! We fully intend to repeat everything about this 5 days, staying at Darryl's place included!

    Ashley2015-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic place—beautiful views and a great spot for relaxing with the girls for a weekend. We loved the trampoline, the hot tub, and the fact that we could walk to town for dinner (about a mile).

    Virginia2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and we had a pleasant experience. Darryl was a great host and the house was as good; if not better; than the description. I wound definately recommend this house to anyone visiting the area.

    Yildirim2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Listing is just as described. The pictures do not give the view justice. -By day we spent some time in the house, enjoying the movie room, hot tub, drinking hot cocoa, trampoline and building a 3 foot snowman. -By night we spent some time in Nederland. I recommend the pizza from "Backcountry Pizza" and "Very Nice Brewery" in the area. -At the house the kitchen was fully stocked with necessities to cook breakfast and dinners. The restrooms were clean upon arrival. There were plenty of towels and extra soap, etc. -Darryl was very helpful and worked with our group when we had car problems. It was an awesome trip. I would highly recommend staying here, and we will be back again soon for our summer vacation.

    Michelle2014-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Darryl is an amazing host and his home... Wow! The pictures are great but do no justice to the views in person. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the best views and a layed back peaceful town of friendly people. Will definitely be returning..

Breathtaking view of the continental divide. Spacious inside - 2600 square feet and high ceilings. New indoor sauna and jacuzzi tub. Full kitchen with new stove, microwave & grill. Clean, comfy and spectacular. You can call it a cabin, but it is a actually a luxurious house. 8500 ft high, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
The house will take your breath away as you enter into the large living room with high ceilings. Look out the windows, or walk out onto the deck for one of the best views you will ever see - the continental divide looming over the Barker reservoir and the mountain town of Nederland. The upstairs is all about the master bedroom, which is BIG and has a large closet, and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a two-headed shower. Downstairs includes the large living room with the amazing views. There is a large dining room table in the entry room, couch & futon's, TV and fireplace. The kitchen is beautiful and connected. As of May, 2017, we have a NEW oven, cooktop, microwave, and outdoor grill! Anything you find in the cupboards there, you are free to use, drink or eat! Two bedrooms and a bath with sauna downstairs also. The driveway is steep and you will need a car for the season. Lots of parking space at the bottom of the driveway, plus one or two garage spots.
This is the Big Springs neighborhood, about a mile from downtown Nederland. Nederland is an amazing little town at 8500 ft, nestled high up in the front range of the rocky mountains. People don't come here to be normal or to get rich, but they come with dreams, which gives our little town a certain charming flavor. The Carousel of Happiness. Just do it. 3 coffeehouses we love: Happy Trails (local flavor, great coffee, nice folks) New Moon (They have their own bakery, and they do it right!) Salto (Large, clean and comfortable space, and they have everything) We don't know much about the bars, but we hear that the Very Nice Brewing Company is very nice. (no food) Bars with food include Cross Cut Pizza great people, ridiculously good pizza, and our favorite place to sit and eat in town. Very popular! James Peak Smokehouse: they are new but doing really great smoked meats and beer. We have a library, a business center, a hardware store, a bank. And a really great co-op on 1st St. Nature's Own rock shop is worth checking out, as is Wild Bear Nature Center.
  • Darryl was a great host and really took good care of us. The place was just beautiful and the views were breathtaking. If you are reading this I definitely recommend you pick this place.

  • We just got back from an amazing 4 day weekend. Darryl was a wonderful host and his home is to die for. As a matter of fact my 2 year old was upset we weren't returning to the "new big home" tonight. The home is spacious, bright and so cozy. The gifts Darryl left us were so thoughtful and delicious. We definitely plan to come back. Thanks Darryl!

    Sheny2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The host was extremely helpful and nice and the house was everything we wanted and more, would highly recommend.

    Jared2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a place!!! Loved every bit of it! Beautiful house with amazing views! We didn’t get a chance to cook there, but has everything you could need. Nederland is a cute small town with neat shops and good food. I recommend Kathmandu Restaurant if you like Nepalese and Indian food. The New Moon Bakery and Cafe was really good as well, we ate there twice. The town has a pretty trail that leads out to the Barker Reservoir. We brought our kayaks up with us and went out on Gross Reservior which isn’t too far and is worth it. Not far of a drive to RMNP, Estes Park, Boulder or Blackhawk as we went to each and always scenic on the drives. Would recommend to anyone and would stay again!

    Ryan2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Darryl's place is exactly as the pictures and reviews suggest... and even a little more. Gorgeous, expansive views. Ultimate comfort and spacious enough for 10. I will definitely be back, and I'll recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Colorado.

    Sheryl2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great: amazing view, a sauna, a patio, lots of room, and even some fun puzzles. The hosts were friendly and communicated quickly whenever I had a question. Check in and check out were super easy. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I was in a tough spot and had to book last minute - Gretchen was awesome about communicating with me and basically saved my night! Her place is spacious, well decorated, clean, and central. You have the entire downstairs to yourself which includes a private bathroom, small living room area, and kitchenette to yourself. She is a really neat person and I wish I had more time to chat with her. Highly recommend her place with her nice roommate and awesome pup!
